The Final Face/Off: And the Winner is…

STEVEN SPIELBERG

That’s right, Steven Spielberg is the champion of Face/Off: Battle Royale!

For the last year, I have pitted directors against one another as they fought their way to the top of the competition. I let you, our beloved screenagers, decide who advanced to the next round. There were blowouts, coin flips, and upsets. At the end of the day, the King of the Blockbuster reigned supreme.

To win Face/Off, Spielberg had to best Hayao Miyazaki, Peter Jackson, Rob Reiner, Robert Zemeckis, Wes Anderson, Alfred Hitchcock, and Stanley Kubrick. How close did he come to beating his finalist competitors? Let’s take a look.

  • Spielberg: 10 votes
  • Hitchcock: 6 votes
  • Kubrick: 5 votes

Spielberg ended up with a 4 vote lead over Hitchcock which gave him a nice cushion.

Thank you to everyone who participated over the last year of battles. Here’s to whatever comes next!

Which director do you think should have made it farther in the competition? Do you think Spielberg is the best director to ever live? Throw your opinions done in the comments!
