2020 is shaping up to be quite the year for Kumail Nanjiani. Not only did he get extremely ripped late last year and is now a heartthrob, but he’s part of the ensemble of the next major Marvel franchise The Eternals.
But before he becomes a superhero, he’s going to have to solve a murder. Watch The Lovebirds trailer below.
This looks like a comedy in the vein of Date Night and Game Night where normal couples get caught up in real-life hijinks.
Nanjiani and Issa Rae (Insecure) look like they have some killer chemistry, so I’m hoping this will be a success. I’ll be watching it anyway.
Plot Synopsis:
A couple (Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjiani) experiences a defining moment in their relationship when they are unintentionally embroiled in a murder mystery. As their journey to clear their names takes them from one extreme – and hilarious – circumstance to the next, they must figure out how they, and their relationship, can survive the night.
The Lovebirds hits theaters April 3, 2020.
