The New ‘Morbius’ Trailer is Tangling ALL the Webs

Reading Time: 2 minutes

With just under 3 months to go, Sony has released an new trailer for Morbius. And this time around they are dropping hints that interconnect the film to the Venom-verse, the MCU, and The Amazing Spider-Man films.

I don’t know man, I just have very little faith in Sony as a whole these days. None of their films in the superhero world have done much for me. And the fact that they keep trying to force a Sinister Six spinoff for the last decade just worries me. Venom was pretty mediocre if you ask me. I haven’t seen the sequel yet, but I haven’t heard anything spectacular about it so far. This just looks like more of the same.

And say what you want about the Tom Holland Spidey films, but I enjoyed them and they at least FIT in the MCU well. This and Venom do not. But I guess this is one way to introduce vampires for Blade to come in and wipe out.

Oh and I forgot this was being directed by the same guy that did Life which felt like a backdoor intro to Venom in the first place. Who knows, maybe Morbius will surprise me.

Plot Synopsis:

Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?

Morbius hits theaters January 21, 2022.
