Another founding member of the X-Men has been cast for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Deadline, Ben Wang is in talks to play Iceman in Marvel Studios‘ untitled X-Men reboot. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Iceman is known for the mutant power of cryokinesis, which grants him the ability to generate and control ice and cold. Shawn Ashmore previously played him in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men film series.

If Wang is cast, X-Men would mark the latest major franchise the young actor has been fortunate enough to be part of, after Karate Kid: Legends and the upcoming The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Wang’s other major credits include The Long Walk, American Born Chinese, and Mean Girls.

The current confirmed cast for X-Men includes Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, Asa Germann as Angel, and Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, with Peter Claffey also in talks to join as Beast.

Jake Schreier is directing the untitled X-Men reboot, which is slated to hit theaters on May 5, 2028. It will be the first film of Phase 7 of the MCU.
