‘The Water Man’ Trailer: A Young Boy Seeks Out the Secret to Immortality

RLJE Films has released an official trailer for The Water Man, an upcoming film that will serve as David Oyelowo‘s directorial debut. Let’s take a look.

Okay, this looks like it good be one of this year’s hidden gems. I like what I’m seeing here. Oyelowo is a talent that usually doesn’t disappoint, so I’m excited to see what he’s capable of behind the camera.

With theaters still hurting for content, The Water Man might actually see more eyes than it would in a normal year for cinema. With less to see, audiences might be more willing to take a chance on films like The Water Man over a tenth showing of Godzilla vs. Kong.

Plot Synopsis:

Gunner (Chavis) sets out on a quest to save his ill mother (Dawson) by searching for a mythic figure who possesses the secret to immortality, the Water Man. After enlisting the help of a mysterious local girl, Jo (Miller), they journey together into the remote Wild Horse forest — but the deeper they venture, the stranger and more dangerous the forest becomes. Their only hope for rescue is Gunner’s father (Oyelowo), who will stop at nothing to find them and in the process will discover who his son really is.

The Water Man hits theaters May 7, 2021.
