Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.
Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.
There’s been a lot of chatter lately about how 2024 had a lot of great movies. Not just great horror movies, but great everything, whether it was blockbusters, animation, indies, dramas, you name it, 2024 had it. Many have said that we haven’t seen a year so packed with greatness since 2019.
So, the question I ask today is: do you think 2024 was the best year for film since 2019?
I think I have to say that it was. I mean, COVID definitely took 2020 and 2021 out of the running, and 2022 had some strong highlights, but nothing as great as 2024. 2023 is close, but there are just a lot of 2024 movies that I know for a fact I’ll be revisiting time and time again, like Hundreds of Beavers.
So what about you, screenagers? Do you think 2024 was the best year for film since 2019? Why?
I’ll see you in the trenches.
