‘Wednesday’ Teaser Introduces You to Wednesday Addams

Netflix has released an official teaser trailer for Wednesday, an upcoming series based on The Addams Family. Let’s take a look at Jenna Ortega in the title role, shall we?

 

Well, you can’t get much more faithful to the original character design than that. I’m not the biggest Addams Family fan, but I have been impressed with Ortega’s previous work, so I may just check this series out. What do I have to lose except a few hours of my time, right?

In addition to Ortega, Wednesday stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, and Christina Ricci (who played Wednesday in the live-action ’90s Addams Family films). Tim Burton directed every episode of Season 1.

Plot Synopsis:

Wednesday is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.Season One will follow Wednesday as she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

Wednesday Season 1 is expected to begin streaming on Netflix later this year.
