WHAT I WATCHED THIS WEEK
The Many Saints of Newark (2021) – I held off on this one for a while now. It’s one of the only staright to HBOMax movies I didn’t see that year. I heard it was good and it was. It just wasn’t Sopranos good. That being said, if you are a fan of the show you should watch this. There’s some great performances and some nice nods to the show. 3.25/5
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023) – Bumblebee was a nice change of pace from the Micheal Bay films, it had heart. They aren’t bad per say, but they really aren’t great and they seemed to make each one more complicated than the last and the timelines always seemed off. Bumblebee tried to smooth some of that out, but this one just seems to scramble it again. It’s kinda boring and it’s obvious ILM didn’t do the FX because it looks clunky in parts. Probably not the parts WETA swooped in and saved (beginning and end). 2.5/5
