Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.
Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.
A paragraph introduction that builds up to the question you are about to pose. If it’s about the best comedy scenes in film, you might want to include a short history of comedy scenes, etc.
So the question I ask today is: what question you want to pose goes here?
I approached this question two ways. If we’re talking about every film an actor has appeared in no matter how big or small the role was then you have to go with Samuel L. Jackson. The man has appeared in countless classics, has worked with the likes of Steven Spielberg and Quentin Tarantino, and is Nick Fury in the freakin’ Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s over 100 films that he has appeared in.
Now on the other hand, if I’m just looking at films where an actor playing either a major supporting or lead role, I’m leaning towards an acting legend like Daniel Day-Lewis or Joaquin Phoenix. The performances are always solid, but the films may be hit or miss.
No, I’m going with my first answer. Samuel L. Jackson definitely has the best filmography. Change my mind.
So what about you, folks? What actor do you think has the best filmography? And what criteria are you using to come to that decision?
I’ll see you in the trenches.
