What is the Most Iconic Line in Movie History?

Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.

There are many memorable lines that have been written or improvised in movie history, so much so that they get repeated in other films and have become stables in cinema pop culture.

So, the question I ask today is: What is the most iconic line in movie history?

I went so back and forth on this one, but I’m going to say that “I’ll be back” is up there as one of the most quotable lines and one that I heard too often while growing up, in both movies and in real life. Is it the most iconic line ever said in a film? It could be. Although I get the feel that Scarface and Travis Bickle might disagree.

So what about you, screenagers? What is the most iconic line in movie history?

I’ll see you in the trenches.
