What Spielberg Movie Character Would You Want to Trade Places With for a Day?

Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.

It’s Steven Spielberg month at ScreenAge Wasteland! To honor the acclaimed director, we want to use the Question of the Days to ask fun one-off questions that have no wrong answers. The director has continuously released a new movie every couple of years so there are endless films and characters that audiences have grown up and formed a connection with.

So with that said, the question I ask today is: what Steven Spielberg character from one of his movies would you most want to trade places with for a day?

I mean Indiana Jones is the correct answer, right? Indiana Jones is the ultimate badass. He always gets the girl. He gets to travel to new places and fight Nazis. His father is Sean Connery. There really is no reason not to pick him.

So I’m picking Wade Watts from Ready Player One. I know the book and the movie have their flaws, but I still love ’em. I love the idea of a virtual reality that you can actually walk and interact with other people. A digital world where you can run into pop culture icons and fight as Batman or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. One day wouldn’t even be enough to truly explore the OASIS, but I’ll have to settle for that.

Plus Watts drives a DeLorean that’s decked out to be the Back to the Future time machine, so that’s just another check in the win column.

What about you, screenagers? What movie character from a Spielberg film would you want to trade places with for a day?

I’ll see you in the trenches.
