Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.
Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.
As we continue Superhero Month here at SAW, we want to try and shine a spotlight on franchises that never really became the star they could have been. Whether because of a box office bomb, poor direction, or behind the scenes executive tampering, some comic book films simply came and went with a whimper.
So, the question I ask today is: what superhero film (or franchise) would you love to see get one more instalment?
After Spider-Man: No Way Home, I’d love to see Sony give Maguire a fourth Spider-Man film and Garfield a chance to wrap up his trilogy. However, I’m perfectly fine if neither of those two films ever happen. Instead, what I’d love to see is one last film with the original cast of X-Men. The original trilogy ended right before the Marvel Cinematic Universe took off. A final X-Men film would give the cast and creatives a chance to really go full comic book and give us the classic costumes and locations that might have been too “out there” back in the early 2000s.
One last hurrah before Marvel Studios reboots them into the MCU? That is all I would love to see.
So what about you, screenagers? What superhero film/franchise do you want to see get one last film?
I’ll see you in the trenches.
