Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.
Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.
The one great thing about movies is that they can help to motivate us to be the best version of ourselves.
So, the question I ask today is: Which movie quote inspires and motivates you?
“Why do we fall, Bruce? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up.”
This quote was only used in Batman Begins (2005) but it pertains to the trilogy as a whole. The concept of ‘falling’ can be applied to all three films, both literally and metaphorically.
In Batman Begins (2005), Ra’s al Ghul is able to best him physically and he has to learn to constantly pick himself back up, especially during his initial training. In The Dark Knight (2008), the Joker takes him down both mentally and emotionally. In The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Bruce is having to pick himself back up spiritually in order to get out of the hole.
This quote can also be applied to that of Gotham City as well as Bruce Wayne having to decide which piece of his life are worth picking back up after the death of his parents.
One of the best CBM trilogies of all time!!
So what about you, screenagers? Which movie quote inspires and motivates you?
I’ll see you in the trenches.
