Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.
For our annual ScreenAge Wasteland Awards, we have a category called “Best Onscreen Movie Ensemble.” The past winners have included such movies as Avengers Endgame/Little Women (2019), Happiest Season (2020), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022), and The Iron Claw (2023).
Just looking at the above titles will remind you of the stars that were in said movies and how great it was seeing all these talented actors working together. But do you have some dream cast pairings that haven’t been realized on the big screen yet? That’s what today’s question is all about.
So, the question I ask today is: which actors would you love to see work together?
Look, whether this is another Benoit Blanc mystery or something similar to Game Night, I’d love a movie that blends the action, mystery, and comedy genres together, with stars like Rachel McAdams, Steve Martin, Dan Levy, Mike Faist, Jessica Rothe, and Dan Stevens. I’d also love to see some actors who were popular in the 1980s work together like Charlie Sheen, Andrew McCarthy, Molly Ringwald, and, why not, Michael J. Fox (for a memorable cameo). Maybe we’re at one of those high school reunions or a small town’s 150th-anniversary celebration. I don’t know! Those are just some (of my favorite) actors I’d love to see be in a movie together.
