20 Movie-Themed Two-Person Costumes for Halloween 2026

Reading Time: 12 minutes

Halloween is one of the few acceptable times a year when people will not judge you for dressing up as your favorite movie character. 2026 has already given us so many iconic new characters, as well as reaffirmed some older fan favorites, that there’s no shortage of costumes to choose from this year.

However, sometimes, the best costume is one that comes with a partner. This list is for those couples, best friends, and siblings who want to hit the streets as their favorite movie characters from 2026. Below you’ll find twenty costumes that can either be found in a store like Spirit Halloween or assembled at home with a little DIY gumption.

Here are 20 Movie-Themed Two-Person Costumes for Halloween 2026.

20. Ghostface from Scream 7 and Ghostface from Scary Movie

Believe it or not, this is only the second time that an entry in the Scream and Scary Movie franchises have been released in the same calendar year. Making it the perfect time to pair up the more sinister traditional Ghostface from Scream costume and the silly spoof Ghostface from Scary Movie costume. Both franchises have fallen off a little bit from their early heydays but that doesn’t make the Ghostface imagery any less iconic. You’re bound to see a few running around every Halloween even with no movie tie, so why not don the costume when it’s actually topical.

19. Spider-Man and Jean Grey from Spider-Man: Brand New Day

This one is meant for the cosplayers looking to expose a new character combo on their big night. While both are prominent Marvel superheroes, it’s not often you see Spider-Man and Jean Grey together on Halloween night. But thanks to blockbuster mega-hit Spider-Man: Brand New Day, this collaboration just got trendy. One partner will need the bravery (and possibly the body warmth) to sustain a full night in a Spider-Man morph suit. Extra points for original quips and acrobatics.

The other partner will need a few layers, as this Jean doesn’t have her full X-Men garb quite yet. If you live in an area with a cold Halloween night, this might be a comfortable option for you. You’ll need a dark undershirt, a yellow zip-up hoodie, with a dark green or black leather jacket on top. Light gloves and combat boots add on nicely as well. Plus, putting your fingers to your temples will go a long way with this costume. And while these two are not romantic partners during this story, who’s to say it won’t happen down the line? A costume pairing worthy of any guy in the friend zone or of couples looking to make comic book nerds mad.

18. The Mandalorian and Grogu

Do you like to make fun of your partner for being a cute little shorty? If you said yes, boy have I got the costume for you. Throw on your Mandalorian helmet and get your partner a nice little robe and some green makeup for their Grogu costume. The Mandalorian and Grogu may not be the most iconic Star Wars property or characters, but the main duo is still an ideal costume for any duo. This costume shows that you have a deep and sometimes unconventional appreciation for each other and that you like adventures. What couple wouldn’t want to give off that vibe?

17. Little Death and the Final Girl from Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma

The slasher subgenre is prime real estate for Halloween costumes. Jane Schoenbrun knew exactly what they were doing with this meta entry into the rich history of movies about teenage sex and death. Little Death (a.k.a. Vent Man) and Kris are a perfect costume for couples who want to show that they know how to have a good time. If you’re feeling wild you can swap Kris for Gillian Anderson’s Billy character, which has a little more room for fun accessorizing. Either way, this costume is perfect for showing that you’re fun, sexy, cool, and a little bit spooky.

16. Linda Liddle and Bradley Preston from Send Help

This may not have been the most popular Sam Raimi release of all time, but Send Help was definitely among the most fun. It also has the making of an excellent couple’s costume, or maybe just two friends who don’t mind leaning into the sicko vibes of this movie. For the unprepared non-Halloween planners, just throw on some business casual and some nametags. Those willing to prepare should definitely go all-out: fake blood, sand, ripped-up clothes, and maybe a reference to the now-infamous blue-ringed octopus neurotoxin scene? The possibilities are truly endless. If you really want to go hard, grab some spirit gum and add Linda’s messed-up eye. Excellent Halloween horror vibes, even if you have to explain to others who you both are.

–Valerie Morreale

15. Buddy the Unicorn and Nurse Grace or a Child from Buddy

The new film from Casper Kelly, creator of Too Many Cooks, provides a ton of options for duo costumes of all kinds, centered around the titular character Buddy. Having one part of this duo be Buddy is a must, as he is the only truly immediately recognizable character from the movie for most people. But the joy comes in the easy pairings. Going with a girlfriend or wife? A simple nurse’s costume can suffice to be Nurse Grace! Going as a single parent with a kid? Dress your kid up in the most fitting child counterpart from the show! To help the kid be truly from “Buddy,” outfit them with a backpack designed to look like “Strappy.”

14. Supergirl and Lobo from Supergirl

If you look like Jason Momoa, or are a biker or jock, then this is the costume for you this Halloween. Lobo will require some greyish-white makeup over your face and arms, and so much leather and chains, but if you’re a biker (or Momoa himself), you probably have that in your closet already. You may need to run to the nearest costume store to grab a wig, but otherwise, your Lobo costume is ready to go.

Joining you as Lobo will be your significant other or female friend as Supergirl. This is an outfit that also doesn’t require much heavy lifting to put together. Simply head to Spirit Halloween and buy the Supergirl costume that is surely being sold this season, and then head to a Salvation Army or a similar store that sells used clothing and find a brown trench coat. It’s as simple as that.

13. He-Man and Skeletor from Masters of the Universe

The movie itself is kind of trash, but the opportunity for costumes is great. You can go with something kind of standard and find ready-made costumes at a local Spirit Halloween, or you can spice it up a little bit. Why not make your Skeletor costume sexy? (a gender-neutral suggestion). Find the mask and dress it up however you choose. And for He-Man, you can go with the classic kilt and sword look, or Adam’s business casual earthbound look from early in the film. Bonus points if you have a pet that you can dress up as Cringer.

12. Dr Ian Kelson and Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal from 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

The Bone Temple offers a much more unusual couple costume for horror fans who want something less predictable. Ian Kelson and Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal let you lean into the film’s post-apocalyptic horror aesthetic. This pairing is definitely for horror enthusiasts who would rather choose an unconventional character duo than a traditional Halloween pairing. For Kelson, opt for a more weathered look with a tactical vest, or a khaki scoop-neck tank top, and distressed brown cargo pants. Sir Jimmy Crystal may be a bit more… uh, controversial, given its tie to Jimmy Savile. But know your audience. Jimmy Crystal’s costume is a bit easier to put together — a purple velvet tracksuit, upside-down cross necklace, and, of course, a tiara.

Catherine and Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights

11. Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights is a great choice for couples who want to convey a toxic romance with a flair for the dramatic. Catherine and Heathcliff are instantly associated with the windswept moors and doomed romance, so look for Victorian-inspired clothing, dark colors, boots, shawls, and suitably wild hair to create a recognizable look without requiring elaborate costumes. This pairing would appeal especially to book lovers, fans of gothic romance, or couples who want something elegant and atmospheric rather than anything overtly spooky.

10. Wile E. Coyote and a “Suit” from Coyote vs. Acme

After crawling out from under the boulder that was the Warner Bros. studio logo, Coyote vs. Acme was saved by Ketchup Entertainment. Audiences turned out for the Looney Tunes movie, with the comedy film grossing $110 million worldwide. While a lot of jokes have already been made at the expense of Warner Bros. for shelving Coyote vs. Acme, a few more won’t hurt.

Wile E. Coyote is simple enough. Just grab the costume from Spirit Halloween (or make your own with a brown jumpsuit and craft supplies). As for the “Suit,” it’s pretty self-explanatory. The base outfit will be a simple suit, but after that, it is up to the wearer’s imagination how to accessorize the costume. With the right name tag (or bolo tie), the “Suit” can become an ACME lawyer, Wile E.’s lawyer played by Will Forte, or even Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

9. Matt and Jay from Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie

Want to dress as the leading duo from one of the best movies of the year? This is both one of the easiest and most difficult costumes to pull off. On the one hand, Matt and Jay are wearing clothes you could probably easily find an approximation of at local thrift or discount stores. However, you’ve got to nail it as close as possible since they are ultimately just dudes in fairly normal clothes. Matt is easier, with a big ripped knee in his jeans, and his matching tan fedora and suit coat. Jay will need to stick by Matt to keep his character clear; stray away and you will quickly just become a dude who seems to have not come in a costume at all.

8. Future Nick and Present Nick from Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice

There are a million two-person costumes for brothers: Mario and Luigi; Beavis and Butthead; Woody and Buzz. But when it comes to costumes for identical twin brothers, that’s where it gets a bit tricky. Luckily, Hulu released an action comedy this year called Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice that offers twins the chance to play two versions of Vince Vaughn. What’s better than that, right?

The brother playing Present Nick will go all mob boss: a bold, flashy suit, nice shades, and slicked-back hair. Future Nick will rock the same slicked-back hair, while wearing a black turtleneck and brown overcoat, no shades. Sure, only those cool enough to have seen one of the more underrated movies of 2026 will know who you’re supposed to be dressed as, but like I said, the pickings are slim for identical twins, especially this year.

7. A Minion and a Monster

This one is pretty self-explanatory. In a twist on this summer’s Minions & Monsters, one person dresses up as a minion and the other as any monster of their choosing. A werewolf? Dracula? Frankenstein? An actual monster from the animated movie. The choices are endless! I’m not going to tell you how to assemble a Minion costume because I know you all have been doing it for over a decade now.

6. Jessie and Lilypad from Toy Story 5

Woody and Buzz have dominated the Toy Story Halloween costumes for decades, but now it is truly time for the Jessies to shine! There are lots of great ways to make a Jessie costume: there will be plenty of pre-made costumes out there for ease and accuracy, but you could just as easily hunt down some Western wear that matches the look. As long as you find a close enough hat, you’re golden! Now, you could pair Jessie with Sheriff Woody, or her new hubby (spoilers?) Buzz, but the true co-star of the movie is the new character LilyPad. How do you pull that off as a costume, though? My suggestion is to find a frog costume as your base, and then simply grab a pasteboard and design it to match a screen shown in the movie. Hang it around your neck or just hold it, and you are suddenly Lily!

5. Corvette and the Giant Ball of Anxiety from I Love Boosters

This one is for the high fashion girlies and their “I don’t have a costume” boyfriends. I Love Boosters definitely featured some of the most interesting and bombastic outfits of any film this year, and dressing as any member of the Velvet Gang is sure to turn heads. It’s the pairing with the Giant Ball of Anxiety though that makes this costume a hilarious and perfect pairing. It’s very easy to throw together: take a black trash bag and glue a bunch of stuff to it – magazine covers, newspaper, brightly colored tissue, the works. The hardest part is finding a flashy and stylish outfit for Corvette, which should be absolutely doable if you either already have something in your wardrobe or are willing to browse your local thrift shop. Truly a fantastic and underrated pairing.

4. Ryland Grace and Rocky from Project Hail Mary

I expect Project Hail Mary to be a pretty popular choice for Halloween this year. Ryland Grace lets you dress as a stranded astronaut, while Rocky is where the costume gets creative. Since Rocky is an extraterrestrial, spider-like creature, you could make a simplified version with a black or gray bodysuit, multiple lightweight foam or cardboard arms, and a homemade alien headpiece. If a full creature costume feels too ambitious, try a simple brown outfit, several articulated foam arms, and a distinctive alien mask that communicates the character without requiring a professional costume. This would be a particularly fun DIY project for anyone who enjoys crafting.

3. Antinous and a Beggar from The Odyssey

If you like to be the star of the Halloween show while your partner is just along for the ride (or better yet, leaves early), consider picking this costume duo from The Odyssey. Now one of the biggest movie memes of the year, theater-goers will have a hard time forgetting Robert Pattinson’s aggressive request for the beggars to vacate the Temple of Ithaca during the climactic final act of Odysseus’ tale. For this undertaking, wearers may need to find some leather Greek armor plates on the chest along with gold-plated gauntlets and, if possible, pteruges (an armor-like skirt). Fur trimmings on the collar and a cloak can be added for those looking to match Antinous’ extravagance.

However, the partner for this is much less complicated. Simply wrap yourself in a tattered blanket or cloth, carry an empty bowl, and see how long you can go in bare feet throughout the night. The real pleasure of this costume pairing comes when you both are together. Have the “beggar” ask something or do something to “Antinous,” and then in fiery language, “Antinous” will spit out: “Somebody get these beggars out of here!” I guarantee it’s worth at least one laugh for your Halloween night.

2. Sheep Detectives

This is a perfect, simple, cute costume that can be done in so many ways and works for any pair, not just couples. You can both grab sheep costumes from your local Halloween store, then double up with detective hats and magnifying glasses to be “sheep detectives.” Or split the concept in half: One goes full sheep, the other goes full detective—leaving other guests to piece together that you’re representing the crowdpleaser. You also don’t strictly need a pricier sheep costume; you can make your own with cotton balls or fleece coats, so there are plenty of options to fit every desired level of creativity and budget.

1. Bloody Nikki and Bear from Obsession

This is obviously going to be THE couples costume of the year. But it’s going to be tougher to pull off than it sounds. The good news is, these aren’t really elaborate costumes as Nikki and Bear are simply wearing regular clothes, albeit with specific styles. The bad news is you have to convince people you are Bear, not just a random sloughy guy. The bigger boost to that will be sticking by a very bloody Nikki.

The strangest part of this “costume” is that it is much more sold by performance than costume. The most important part of a Nikki costume is the smile. Truly, the face will be selling the character, with whatever dress you choose merely reinforcing the character. In fact, it hardly matters what the dress looks like. If you desire, you can try to match the dress from the party scene, the finale or the dinner date where things begin to spiral.

For Bear, do your best to find a hoodie or sweater that matches his geometric pattern look from the movie, and maybe wear it for a week ahead of the party to get it dirty and break it in. Maybe don’t brush your hair. Really, just look a bit disheveled. Try to look like you woke up to a shrine for your dead cat, that kind of thing.
