It looks like the Avatar hype train is finally pulling out of the station.
James Cameron is hoping audiences will return with open arms to the world of Pandora when the long-awaited sequels to the 2009 blockbuster smash hit theaters in a couple of years. The director recently debuted four new Avatar 2 concept art images at the 2020 CES, the annual tech show held at Las Vegas.
The concept art came with the following promise that the sequels will take you to “new parts of the world” first seen in Avatar.
I have to admit that while I haven’t seen Avatar I do find the above art breathtaking. Especially the floating rock one. That looks like something I would enjoy exploring on a nice afternoon.
Avatar 2 hits theaters December 17, 2021. Avatar 3 hits theaters December 22, 2023. If the box office is kind to those sequels, then Avatar 4 & 5 will follow on December 19, 2025 and December 17, 2027.
What do you think of the concept art? Do you think Cameron can pull off another spectacle?
