The Man Without Fear will soon be The Man Without His Own Show (again).
The Hollywood Reporter revealed today that Daredevil: Born Again is set to end with its upcoming third season on Disney+. The decision comes about two months after the Marvel Television show wrapped filming on its now-final season.
However, that’s not all the bad news Daredevil fans are receiving today. THR also reported that Marvel has quietly parted ways with showrunner Dario Scardapane, whose contract was up and was not renewed. This means that Scardapane has exited Born Again Season 3 during the final stages of its post-production. It is unclear who will see the show through completion.
When combined with Netflix’s Daredevil, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil will have been at the forefront of a six-season, 64-episode saga spanning 12 years. This gives Daredevil one of the longest character arcs in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Looks to Be Quietly Exiting Television
With Wonder Man unrenewed and a fourth season of Daredevil: Born Again now off the table, there are no active live-action MCU shows in production. All that fans have to look forward to is VisionQuest this October and Born Again Season 3 in March 2027. That’s it.
Granted, THR claims that Marvel has three to five live-action shows in development, all of which remain under wraps. Its sources also state that the studio just greenlit a spy thriller referred to as Zodiac. There is a criminal organization in the comics with that name, although it’s unclear if it’ll be the focus of the show.
As for the Man Without Fear, I’d wager Born Again Season 3 won’t be the last time audiences see the vigilante. Is the big screen in his future? Only time will tell.
