A release date for Celine Song‘s follow-up to her directorial debut Past Lives has been announced by A24.
Per Variety, A24 has dated Materialists, starring Chris Evans, Dakota Johnson, and Pedro Pascal, for release in theaters on June 13, 2025. Written, directed, and produced by Song, the rom-com follows “a young, ambitious New York City matchmaker who finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex.”
The first poster for Materialists was also released and can be viewed below.
A24 is seemingly keen to stay in business with the directors of its biggest 2023 hits, as the studio is also reuniting with The Iron Claw helmer Sean Durkin for his next feature, Deep Cuts. Durkin will write and direct the film adaptation of Holly Brickley’s debut novel, which is a love story set in the 2000s about two music-obsessed twentysomethings navigating the messy realities of ambition, belonging and adulthood over the course of an era-defining decade. Saoirse Ronan and Austin Butler will star.
Materialists will hit theaters on June 13, 2025.
