Christian Bale Would Play Batman Again If Christopher Nolan Was Involved

Christian Bale has revealed that he would be open to playing Batman again.

The actor told ScreenRant that he would happily suit up as the Dark Knight for another DC film on one condition: Christopher Nolan, who directed Bale in The Dark Knight Trilogy, would have to be involved. Here’s what Bale said:

“In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell.’ And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.”

Bale starred as Bruce Wayne/Batman in 2005’s Batman Begins, 2008’s The Dark Knight, and 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. The trilogy chronicled the complete journey of Bale’s Batman from his first days as a superhero to his final moments, which the actor revealed was his and Nolan’s intention from the very beginning:

“We said, ‘Hey, look. Let’s make three films, if we’re lucky enough to get to do that. And then let’s walk away. Let’s not linger too long.'”

Fans of the actor can currently see Bale as Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love And Thunder, which is now playing in theaters.
