Bad reviews and box office for the live-action Moana be damned, Disney is moving forward with another live-action reimagining of one of its animated classics.

According to DeadlineColman Domingo is looking to co-write an original live-action feature about Princess Tiana with Robert O’Hara for Disney. It is being billed as a spinoff of the 2009 animated feature The Princess and the Frog, meaning that fans should not expect a straightforward adaptation.

The new film comes more than a year after Walt Disney Animation Studios shelved its Tiana sequel series. While plot details for Tiana were never fully shared, Disney had reported that the series would have picked up after 2009’s The Princess and the Frog, with Anika Noni Rose reprising her role as Tiana, the studio’s first Black princess.

Other live-action adaptations of Disney animated pics in the works include Tangled, currently in production with Milo Manheim and Teagan Croft as its leads; Stepsisters, a Cinderella spinoff directed by Akiva Schaffer; and Lilo & Stitch 2 from filmmaker Chris Sanders.
