Dan Stevens is joining the Monsterverse.
The actor, best known for his starring roles in Downton Abbey and Beauty and the Beast, is the first major actor to be cast in the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong sequel. Stevens will lead the film, which rumored to be titled Son of Kong.
The project will reteam Stevens with director Adam Wingard for the first time since their 2014 action horror thriller The Guest. Production is slated to begin this summer in Australia. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it will reportedly involve Godzilla and Kong again (I guess that makes them frenemies).
The upcoming sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong does not yet have a release date. An Apple TV+ series based on the organization Monarch is also in the works.
Are you excited to see Stevens and Wingard reunite for a new project?
