The Jurassic World franchise just got an update that will make even Jurassic Park fans happy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Koepp, who wrote 1993’s Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park, is currently deep into writing a new Jurassic World movie.

The project, which has been flying under the radar, is far enough along that Universal apparently thinks it could be released as early as 2025. Granted, that would only happen if production, which has yet to begin, went smoothly.

There is no director on board, but Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are back as producers, while Steven Spielberg will executive produce via his Amblin Entertainment banner.

Plot details remain unknown, although this new movie will reportedly launch a “new Jurassic era.” Yay?

We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
