DC Studios has finally found an actor willing to play Charles Dent in The Batman Part II.
According to Deadline, Dance is in talks to join the sequel to Matt Reeves’ The Batman. While unconfirmed, it is believed he would be playing Charles Dent, the father of Gotham district attorney Harvey Dent, who will be played by Sebastian Stan. Scarlett Johansson is on board to play Dent’s wife.
Charles Dent has proven to be a hard role to cast, as several high-profile actors have already passed on the role. Some of the names believed to have turned down the role include Brad Pitt, Stellan Skarsgård, Robert De Niro, and Daniel Craig.
It has been suggested that these actors passed on Charles Dent due to the sinister nature of the character. Dance shouldn’t have a problem with that, as he’s known for playing Tywin Lannister, one of the more powerful and treacherous men in all of Westeros, on Game of Thrones.
The Batman Part II is set to start production in the spring and will open in theaters on October 1, 2027.
Elsewhere in the DC Universe, Man of Tomorrow has begun production. James Gunn announced the start of filming on social media yesterday, with a post featuring an image of a chessboard and a lanyard belonging to Lex Luthor.
Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to hit theaters on July 9, 2027.
