Do You Have a Specific Way to Kick Off the Halloween Season?

Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.

Every October, ScreenAge Wasteland becomes ScreamAge Wasteland. We always kick off the month with our annual 31 Days of Halloween watchlist, suggesting 31 new horror/spooky films for your enjoyment.

Well, I want to know what you and your family do when the calendar turns over. So, the question I ask today is: how do you kick off the spooky season?

Is there a specific movie you watch first every year? Do the Halloween decorations go up right away? Do you start costume shopping or planning a Halloween party? Do you start snorting pumpkin spice?

When October 1st rolls around for me, I usually do two things:

  1. I pull out my Halloween decorations; and
  2. Build my October movie watchlist (which I almost never get through)

It’s a great way to get in a spooky movie and get the month off to a frightening success!

So what about you, screenagers? How do you kick off this month of frights?

I’ll see you in the trenches.
