‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Trailer: Namor Is Coming for the Surface World

Marvel Studios has released a new official trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Let’s take a look.

I’ve always thought that Marvel tries a bit harder with its Black Panther films. The marketing is better. There’s less emphasis on comedic moments. The marketing feels bigger, more important than say Thor: Love and Thunder.

Now I’ll be the first to admit that I did not like 2018’s Black Panther. Can I recognize its importance? Yes. Do I still think it’s overrated and has shoddy CGI? Yes. However, Wakanda Forever has so far impressed me. It was always going to be tricky to do this film without Chadwick Boseman, who was absolutely amazing as T’Challa. I still think Marvel should have recast the character, but I’m slowly coming around to Marvel’s decision to kill off the character and use the upcoming MCU sequel to focus on the death of a loved one, grief, etc. Since Marvel so rarely touches on these topics, I’m interested in seeing how they are handled.

Also, I’m so burned out on “MCU humor” that words cannot express how happy I am to see no jokes in the marketing. If this film ends up being more drama action than comedy action you will hear nary a complaint from me.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Dominique Thorne, Tenoch Huerta, Florence Kasumba, Michaela Coel, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett.
