I really liked Doctor Sleep as a film. Especially compared to the fact that when the book was originally announced I thought it was a really bad idea on Stephen King’s part to write a sequel. But I really enjoyed what Mike Flanagan did with the story and how he tweaked it from the book. He helped tie the two books and Stanley Kubrick’s film (which King hated) all together into a nice cohesive whole. I really do think think it was an underrated film from last year that deserved more love at the box office. So check out this cool little side by side comparison video of sequences from both films.
What did you think of the video, did Flanagan pay homage to Kubrick or just flat out rip him off?
