‘Downton Abbey 2’ Hits Theaters This Christmas

Well this is a pleasant surprise!

Glamour has reported that Focus Features has announced that Downton Abbey 2, the second feature-length film to continue the story of the Crawley film from the popular television series of the same name, will hit theaters this Christmas.

Gareth Neame, the film’s producer, said in a statement:

“After a very challenging year with so many of us separated from family and friends, it is a huge comfort to think that better times are ahead and that next Christmas we will be re-united with the much beloved characters of Downton Abbey.”

No word on the sequel’s plot, but Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes returned as screenwriter. As well, the whole cast from the 2019 film is back as well alongside new cast members Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, and Dominic West. Simon Curtis will direct.
