‘DuckTales’ Season 2 Takes You Back to 90s Disney Afternoon

San Diego Comic-Con 2019 and Entertainment Weekly just revealed that DuckTales is about to tap into that sweet 90s nostalgia for the back half of its second season (and third season).

The popular nineties programming block Disney Afternoon is essentially being rebooted into DuckTales. Characters from Rescue Rangers, TailSpin, Darkwing Duck, and Goof Troop will be making appearances in the second and third seasons! Oh, and Daisy Duck will finally appear!

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s to come in season 2.

And here’s the poster:

As you can see, Donald’s fellow caballeros will also be making an appearance. I absolutely LOVE that DuckTales is diving into the vault and bringing these characters to today’s generation, especially since most of them are rooted in Disney’s first success: Mickey Mouse.

When the reboot of DuckTales was first announced, I was immediately against it. But as more artwork was released I grew more optimistic. Now, I am fully onboard. I love the show’s season long arcs, and I think there’s been some really great character development.

There’s a good chance that if the Disney Afternoon guest appearances are well-received we could see Goof Troop, Rescue Rangers, and maybe even a Three Caballeros series get developed. Here’s hoping!

Do you watch DuckTales? What do you think of Disney Afternoon characters being reintroduced into the show?
