Robert Pattinson might soon have his name attached to another high-profile IP.
According to Deadline, Denis Villeneuve is interested in seeing Pattinson join the cast for his third Dune movie, which remains untitled at this time. However, sources state no formal offer has been presented yet to the actor, although Villeneuve is reportedly eyeing him for the villain role of Scytale.
Dune: Part Two stars Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, and Zendaya, as well as Dune star Jason Momoa, are all expected to return for the next entry in Legendary‘s critically and commercially successful franchise. A Summer 2025 production start has been penciled in for the epic sci-fi sequel, which is expected to be based on Frank Herbert’s second Dune novel, 1969’s Dune Messiah.
Robert Pattinson Could Have a Busy 2025
While Mickey 17 was a bust at the box office, Pattinson looks set to quickly rebound. The actor is currently busy filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and, if the casting happens, will go directly into Dune 3. He will also reprise his role as Bruce Wayne / Batman in The Batman Part II, which is now believed to begin production at the top of 2026.
Dune 3 is being eyed for a December 2026 release in theaters.
