Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg previously teased fans of the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie earlier this month when he shared a poorly lit video of actor Zachary Levi‘s new Shazam! costume.
Well, now the director has shared a full image of the entire Shazam! family’s new costumes. Here it is…
And for comparison, here are the costumes from 2019’s Shazam!…
I’m definitely digging the new looks. I like the more textured material being used as well as the redesigned lightning bolt.
However, while I like the darker blue for Adam Brody’s suit, I feel the opposite about D.J. Cotrona’s darker green suit. The green is so dark and muted that it almost looks grey (at least in that image). I sort of wish they had kept the color tones from the first film, but oh well.
I quite enjoyed the first Shazam! movie and am looking forward to the upcoming sequel. With Black Adam also in development my fingers are crossed hoping that both films will succeed at the box office so we can get the inevitable Shazam! vs. Black Adam crossover film.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods hits theaters June 2, 2023.
