A handful of first look images have made their way online, so let’s run them down.
Above you’ll see our first look at Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth as Lucy Gray Baird and Coriolanus Snow, respectively, in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The upcoming film will serve as a prequel to Lionsgate‘s Hunger Games quadrilogy and will follow Blythe’s character, who will one day grow up to be Donald Sutherland’s vicious President Snow, as he mentors District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird in the 10th annual Hunger Games.
Zegler and Blyth lead the film’s massive ensemble cast which includes Viola Davis as Volumnia Gaul, Jason Schwartzman as Lucretius “Lucky” Flickerman, and Peter Dinklage as Casca Highbottom. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes hits theaters on Nov. 17, 2023.
The first image of Johnny Depp as King Louis XV in Jeanne du Barry has also been released. The upcoming historical romance marks the actor’s first major film role since 2020. The French film is currently filming and will be directed by Maïwenn, who also co-stars as the titular mistress. The film does not yet have a release date but will open in French theaters in 2023.
Finally, here is the first official image of Tim Burton‘s Addams Family from Netflix‘s upcoming horror-drama series Wednesday. From left to right, we have actors Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley. The image comes courtesy of Vanity Fair.
Burton directed four of the eight episodes, which follow Wednesday as she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore Academy. The Netflix series is scheduled to premiere on the streaming service in late 2022.
