‘Ford v. Ferrari’ Trailer – Fast, Furious & Biographical in 1966 Le Mans

The tale of Ford‘s attempt to out-race Enzo Ferrari has been bought to the big screen by James Mangold (Walk the Line, Logan) and stars Christian Bale, Matt Damon and Jon Bernthal in a high octane true story of speedway rivalry.

Damon plays visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby while Bale’s accent-au-naturale brings hotheaded British driver Ken Miles to life. Meanwhile Bernthal portrays famous Ford executive Lee Iacocca alongside Tracy Letts as Henry Ford II.

Needless to say, Damon and Bale are some of the finest actors working in Hollywood today and seeing them onscreen together should be a treat, even if you’re not a dedicated gearhead. Caitriona Balfe (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) stars as Mollie Miles while A Quiet Place‘s Noah Jupe looks suitably horrified at some of his dad’s antics, as Ken’s son Peter Miles.

Mangold’s pretty unpolarizing, gaining probably as much cred from 2017’s Logan as he did from his 3:10 to Yuma remake and the Oscar-winning Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line. I personally think his work is a little on the mechanical side, but who am I to argue with the man’s success and visionary choice of projects.

Jez and John Henry Butterworth penned the screenplay alongside Jason Keller and James Mangold; the film is produced via Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox.
