It’s Scarlett Johansson’s birthday! To mark the occasion, here are five performances from the acclaimed actress. Check some of these out if you haven’t already!
Ghost World (2001)
This film is just so damn good. I never read the graphic novel, but the movie has such a dry and semi dark sense of humor to it, that I assume carries over from the source material. Now I will say that our birthday girl is really just a supporting character to Thora Birch‘s outstandingly cynical Enid. But don’t let that dissuade you from watching. ScarJo does an outstanding job as the recent high school graduate who just wants to get a job and move out of her home. Where as Birch just doesn’t really know what she wants in life just yet. The whole film is super relatable if you were a teen in the 90s.
Under The Skin (2013)
Jesus this movie is fucked up. That’s all I can really say. Just watch it and see for yourself. Oh and the score is stellar.
Jojo Rabbit (2019)
I only saw this one once and i do want to revisit it again one of these days. I remember enjoying it and thought she gave a fun and quirky performance. Plus it’s a Taika Waititi non MCU film so that’s a plus as well.
The Prestige (2006)
This might be one of Christoper Nolan‘s best films. While our birthday girl may not have the biggest role in it she does have a very good one in it. This movie has so much going on it that it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole film. It’s definitely a must watch film.
He’s Just Not That Into You (2009)
Ok rom coms are not usually my thing, that’s all Romona. But this is one that when my wife has on (not that she watches it a lot) but when it does happen to be on, I stay and watch it. It’s got an all star cast and it’s quite enjoyable.
