The new Harry Potter trio has been found.

HBO has announced that newcomers Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout have been cast as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley in the upcoming series adaptation of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. A cast photo has also been released and can be viewed above.

Harry Potter showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod had the following to say about the young actors’ casting as the iconic trio:

“After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It’s been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”

The young actors join an ensemble cast that currently consists of John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid), Luke Thallon (Quirinus Quirrel), and Paul Whitehouse (Argus Filch).

A 2026 premiere on HBO is being targeted. We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
