Belmont Cameli is heading off campus (see what I did there) to star in Sony‘s upcoming reimagining of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
According to Deadline, Cameli is set to star as Brom Bones opposite Sydney Sweeney as Katrina Van Tassel in Hollow. The upcoming movie is based on filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer‘s forthcoming debut novel, which will be published by Putnam in Fall 2027.
Told through the perspective of Katrina Van Tassel, the novel reframes one of literature’s most iconic heroines not as a romantic prize but as the central figure in a dangerous mystery and seductive supernatural love triangle. The story blends gothic atmosphere, psychological intrigue, and erotic thriller elements into a contemporary, high-concept reinvention of the classic tale.
What’s interesting about Hollow is that Paramount had hired Beer back in 2022 to write, direct, and produce a reboot of Sleepy Hollow. While there’s no mention of that in Deadline‘s report, it’s hard not to connect the dots and realize that Hollow evolved out of whatever Beer was originally going to do for Paramount.
