‘Home Sweet Home Alone’ Trailer: Holiday Classics Were Meant to Be Broken

20th Century Studios has released an official trailer for Home Sweet Home Alone. The film acts as the sixth instalment in the Home Alone franchise, and is set in the same universe as the first two films. Let’s take a look.

I had extremely low expectations going into this trailer. I expected a dumpster fire, but I only got a trash can fire. This looks cute. Archie Yates (Jojo Rabbit) is a good actor, and I think will do well playing this Kevin McCallister wannabe.

Oh, speaking of the McCallisters… yes, that was Buzz (Devin Ratray) from the first two films all grown up as a cop. That’s actually a pretty cool cameo. There are rumors that Macaulay Culkin will also have a cameo, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Aside from Yates and the return of the McCallisters, Home Sweet Home Alone also stars Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons, Pete Holmes, Ally Maki, and Chris Parnell.

Plot Synopsis:

Max Mercer is a mischievous and resourceful young boy who has been left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays. So when a married couple attempting to retrieve a priceless heirloom set their sights on the Mercer family’s home, it is up to Max to protect it from the trespassers…and he will do whatever it takes to keep them out. Hilarious hijinks of epic proportions ensue, but despite the absolute chaos, Max comes to realize that there really is no place like home sweet home.

Home Sweet Home Alone begins streaming November 12, 2021 on Disney+.
