Casting continues for Indiana Jones 5 well into shooting.
Antonio Banderas (Spy Kids) is the latest new addition to the cast, according to Deadline. There is no word on who he might be playing, so it is impossible to say whether he will be friend or foe.
Granted, you could say that for the majority of the cast. Set photos and past acting roles suggest Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Toby Jones will be allies to Harrison Ford‘s Indiana Jones, but Jones has also been known to play the odd villain once or twice.
Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, and Boyd Holbrook are harder to pin down. All have played villains in past films and TV series, but that is not all they are capable of doing. It will be exciting to see who ends up being the true villain of Indiana Jones 5 because, as of right now, it is anyone’s best guess!
The currently-untitled Indiana Jones 5 hits theaters July 29, 2022.
