With Mayor of Kingstown coming to a close in 2027, Jeremy Renner has been on the hunt to fill up his schedule, and 12 Bullets will do just that.

According to Deadline, Renner is set to headline the action-thriller 12 Bullets from John Wick producer Thunder Road and Comcast-owned UK broadcaster Sky. Legendary label 193 is launching international sales on the project ahead of AFM. The film serves as a reunion for Thunder Road and Renner, who starred in The Town and Wind River.

Sean Ellis is directing a script written by Tim Walker. In 12 Bullets, “a mysterious American must wage a one-man war against rival criminal gangs tearing through London’s supposedly gun-free streets while armed with a single gun. But with only twelve bullets, every shot must count.”

“12 Bullets is exactly the kind of bold, high-concept action thriller that gets our attention,” said 193 CEO Patrick Wachsberger. “With London as its backdrop and a hero forced to make every bullet count, the film delivers a compelling premise with international appeal. Thunder Road has been an important longtime partner, and we’re excited to join forces with them again on a project that brings together everything audiences love about the genre with a fresh, distinctive edge. We look forward to introducing the film to buyers at AFM.”

Renner’s involvement in 12 Bullets comes just a couple of days after he became attached to the survival thriller A Speck in the Sea. He will star alongside Josh Brolin in the incredible true story of Johnny Aldridge, a Montauk lobster fisherman, who in 2013 fell off his fishing boat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean in the dead of night, with Anthony Sosinski, his best friend and fishing partner, asleep below deck.

When Anthony awakens to discover Johnny missing, he instigates a multi-state rescue operation…but all the while, Johnny must fight to stay alive in the middle of the ocean using every survivalist trick he can think of. 193 is also behind international sales on A Speck in the Sea at AFM.
