Harrison Ford‘s Indiana Jones will have at least one familiar ally at his side during his final adventure in Indiana Jones 5. During Lucasfilm‘s presentation at Disney’s D23 Expo 2022, the first footage from the upcoming fifth film was screened exclusively to those in attendance, which revealed that John Rhys-Davies would return as Sallah.
Rhys-Davies previously portrayed Sallah in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark and 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. This is the first confirmation that Rhys-Davies will be in Indiana Jones 5 and as of this time, he is also the only returning cast member besides Ford confirmed for the upcoming action-adventure film.
We still don’t know much about Indiana Jones 5, but the film’s producer Frank Marshall has recently revealed that Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s character, Helena, will be the goddaughter of Indy with some fans already theorizing that she could be Marcus Brody’s daughter.
