‘LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special’ Trailer: Celebrate Life Day This November

Disney+ has released an official trailer for LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, a non-canon animated special that features everyone’s favorite characters from a galaxy far, far away…in LEGO form!

I’m sorry, but this looks enjoyable. I’m all about those plastic bricks, and this looks like it will be taking the LEGO box and shaking it out onto the carpet to play with. Timelines are getting mixed together, Baby Yoda makes a cameo, and it’s all done in animated LEGO form. Have I mentioned I’m a huge fan of LEGO?

On the short list of popular fictional holidays to replace Christmas, Life Day comes in at #2 behind Festivus. This upcoming special looks to make fun of the original Holiday Special (that is near impossible to track down in good quality) and honor the franchise’s 43 year history.

Numerous Star Wars actors returned to voice their characters, including Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO,  Matt Lanter as Anakin Skywalker, Tom Kane as Yoda and Qui-Gon Jinn, James Arnold Taylor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Dee Bradley Baker as Clone Troopers.

Plot Synopsis:

Directly following the events of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” Rey leaves her friends to prepare for Life Day as she sets off on a new adventure with BB-8 to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force. At a mysterious Jedi Temple, she is hurled into a cross-timeline adventure through beloved moments in Star Wars cinematic history, coming into contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan and other iconic heroes and villains from all nine Skywalker saga films. But will she make it back in time for the Life Day feast and learn the true meaning of holiday spirit?

LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special begins streaming November 17, 2020 on Disney+.
