‘Love, Death & Robots’ Returns for Second Helping of Animation Randomness

In further animation news, Netflix has announced that the well-received animation anthology series Love, Death & Robots will be getting a second season.

Deadline reports that Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda) has joined as supervising director for the second season and will oversee all episodes while series creator Tim Miller (of Deadpool fame) executive produces alongside David Fincher, Jennifer Miller and Josh Donen; presumably carrying on their duties into the second season.

Featuring a broad range of stories ranging from science fiction to horror to the purely comedic, LD&R showcased a truly impressive range of contemporary animation styles; I for one had no idea just how diverse and imaginative CGI in particular could be in 2019. But then I grew up in the era of Transformers: Beast Wars so I think it’s safe to say my expectations can be a little bit…basic.

While not every story was my personal cup of tea, I appreciated that someone out there was probably amazed by something unique that was bought to the table by the series; I literally cannot picture what Netflix has in store for us next but I’m damned excited to find out.

No word yet on when the next season of Love, Death & Robots will hit, but stay tuned.
