Marvel Hires Writers to Script ‘Fantastic Four’ & ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’

Marvel Studios is beginning to lock down writers for its upcoming Phase 6 slate of films.

According to Deadline, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer have been tapped to write the script for Fantastic Four. Apparently, the writing duo has been involved with the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot for some time now, even before Matt Shakman was hired as the film’s director. The duo was reportedly outlining where this next series of films will fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. With Shakman now fully signed on to direct, the creatives will join forces to align their visions for this project before beginning work on a screenplay.

Deadline also reports that Jeff Loveness, who recently wrote Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania, will pen Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for Marvel. Destin Daniel Cretton, who helmed 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, signed on to direct the crossover event in July 2022.

Fantastic Four opens in theaters on November 8, 2024, followed by Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on May 2, 2025.
