The Road to the Championship
Considered by many critics and fans to be one of the best Marvel Cinematic Universe films, #9 Captain America: The Winter Soldier steamrolled through the first four rounds beating #8 Spider-Man: Homecoming, #1 Avengers: Endgame, #5 Guardians of the Galaxy, and #6 Iron Man very easily. The Winter Soldier‘s first real threat was #1 seed in the Stan Lee Region — Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The MCU film then took on #1 seed in the DC Trinity Region, The Dark Knight, which was one of the closest matchups yet in this tournament. When the dust settled, The Winter Soldier walked away with 12 votes, narrowly beating The Dark Knight‘s 11 votes to earn the prestigious Movie Madness title.
