The BRZRKR movie is slowly but surely coming together at Netflix.

According to The Hollywood ReporterJustin Lin has been tapped to direct BRZRKR, the feature-length adaptation of the comic book series of the same name created by Keanu ReevesMattson Tomlin penned the screenplay for the movie.

Lin is perhaps best known for directing (arguably) the best Fast & Furious movies — The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast Five (2011), and Fast & Furious 6 (2013) — as well as Fast & Furious (2009) and F9 (2021). His non-The Fast Saga film credits include Better Luck Tomorrow (2002) and Star Trek Beyond (2016).

What Is BRZRKR?

Reeves created the concept and the story for BRZRKR, working with artist Ron Garney and author Matt Kindt. The comic book is a “brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000-year fight through the ages. The man known only as ‘B’ is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence, even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge — working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires — the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence … and how to end it.”

The first issue of BRZRKR remains one of the best-selling comics of the last decade, selling over 600,000 copies. Reeves will star as B (whose likeness in the comics is based on the actor) in the movie as well as produce. Lin will produce via his Perfect Storm banner.

No word yet on when Netflix is hoping to get this into production or onto its streaming service. We’ll keep you posted.
