Who had a sequel to Longlegs being announced on their 2026 bingo card?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Osgood Perkins is working on a new movie “set in the Longlegs universe,” with its sources stressing that it’s not a traditional sequel. He will write, direct, and produce it. Nicolas Cage will return to star and produce the new movie.
Paramount will be the home for Longerlegs (my working title that I coined right now while writing this article), scooping up the project after Neon stepped aside when the “scope and budget exceeded that of the company’s normal parameters.”
Longlegs was, as THR puts it, “an out-of-nowhere hit” when it was released in 2024, becoming the highest-grossing independent film of the past decade with a final box office tally of $128 million. Maika Monroe stars in the movie as an FBI agent with an aptitude for clairvoyance, who investigates a series of murder-suicides in Oregon that are connected to serial killer nicknamed Longlegs (Cage).
