10 years after Snowden, Oliver Stone has finally made another narrative feature. Production has wrapped on White Lies, an intimate and provocative drama that explores family, loss, pain, and uncovers how love can change shape during our lifetimes.
The upcoming movie, told across three generations, stars Josh Hartnett as Jack Freeman, “a child of divorce now repeating his parents’ mistakes in his own marriage and with his own children. Feeling trapped, he embarks on a lust-filled journey to free himself — only to find himself more lost than before. When he meets a woman whose life is the opposite of his own, he begins an unexpected journey of rediscovery.”
Starring alongside Hartnett in the movie will be Leila George, Homer Gere, Yvonne Chapman, Ellen Barkin, Willem Dafoe, and Michael Douglas, per Deadline.
“The cast was a delight from beginning to end. And the Italian crew was the warmest I ever worked with. I’m profoundly grateful for this opportunity,” said Stone.
Fernando Sulichin produces alongside Maximilien Arvelaiz and Jordan Gertner for New Element Media. Executive producers on White Lies include Tarak Ben Ammar and Gianluca Leurini for Eagle Pictures, as well as James Packer and Jose Luis Manzano.
“We are immensely proud of what Oliver, his cast and crew have accomplished,” said Sulichin. “It was thrilling to reunite Oliver with Willem and Michael, two extraordinary actors who starred in his iconic films Platoon and Wall Street respectively, and to see him work with Ellen, whom he has known and admired for many years. It has also been a joy to see Oliver work with the amazingly talented Homer and Yvonne for the first time. We look forward to bringing this film to audiences worldwide.”
No studio is attached to distribute White Lies at the time of writing.
