‘Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank’ Trailer: What in the ‘Blazing Saddles’ Ripoff is This?

Paramount has released an official trailer for Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank. The upcoming animated film, originally titled Blazing Samurai, is reportedly loosely based on the 1974 western black comedy Blazing Saddles. And trust me, once you know that information the similarities in plot and scenes become very obvious. Check out the trailer below.

Okay, I might have to check this out just to see how much it steals pays homage to Blazing Saddles. Mel Brooks is apparently an executive producer on the film, so maybe this will be worth watching? I honestly have no idea.

Plot Synopsis:

A hard-on-his-luck hound Hank (Michael Cera) finds himself in a town full of cats who need a hero to defend them from a ruthless villain’s (Ricky Gervais) evil plot to wipe their village off the map. With help from a reluctant teacher (Samuel L. Jackson) to train him, our underdog must assume the role of town samurai and team up with the villagers to save the day. The only problem… cats hate dogs!

Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank hits theaters July 15, 2022.
