‘Point Blank’ Trailer Shows Why Mackie & Grillo Shouldn’t Own a Car Wash

Netflix has just released the official Point Blank trailer and it looks like the sort of action film that should be hitting theaters and not a streaming service.

This is the problem I have with Netflix and their movies: every once and a while they actually have a film that’s good enough to make a decent run in theaters. Point Blank isn’t going to break any records, but Frank Grillo and Anthony Mackie are solid actors and this actually looks like a nice little action-comedy.

There is no reason this couldn’t open in theaters in March or late August and make a tidy profit. The way Netflix dumps a film on its platform after releasing one trailer is sometimes insulting. They let Twitter decide which shows become popular. Or, Netflix throws a show they want to be popular down our throats. I mean, Bird Box?! How did all those memes just arrive so suddenly?

Point Blank should be heading for theaters not a streaming service. ‘Nuff said.

Plot Synopsis:

When his pregnant wife is kidnapped and held as collateral, Paul, an ER nurse, must team with the badly injured career criminal and murder suspect under his charge in order to save the lives of his wife and unborn child. Pitted against rival gangs and a deadly ring of corrupt cops, the unlikely duo find a way to survive together in the fight of their lives.

Point Blank streams July 12, 2019 on Netflix.
