‘Renfield’ Trailer: Evil Doesn’t Span Eternity Without a Little Help

Universal has released a final trailer for Renfield, starring Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage. Let’s take a look.

I’m going to sound like a broken record, but I think this looks like a lot of fun! I’m also really digging the homages to Universal’s original Dracula film from the 1930s. I’ll definitely be seeing this one in theaters.

Renfield is directed by Chris McKay from a screenplay by Ryan Ridley, based on an original idea by The Walking Dead and Invincible creator Robert Kirkman. In addition to Cage and Hoult, Renfield stars Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, and Adrian Martinez.

Plot Synopsis:

In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Nicolas Cage). Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency.

Renfield opens in theaters on April 14, 2023.
