Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon Join ‘Oppenheimer’

You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention, Christopher Nolan.

Deadline is reporting that Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon are the latest actors to join Nolan’s upcoming biopic, Oppenheimer.

The two actors are currently in talks to join the cast, which already has Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy on board Katherine Puening and J. Robert Oppenheimer. There’s no word on who Downey Jr. and Damon are playing just yet.

Oppenheimer focuses on “J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who ran the Manhattan Project that led to the invention of the atomic bomb.”

Nolan has worked with Damon previously on Interstellar, but this would be his first time working with Downey Jr. It will also be Downey Jr.’s first non-MCU role since Dolittle. Remember Dolittle? Of course you don’t, it bombed at the box office in 2020 (no pandemic needed).

Oppenheimer is set to hit theaters on July 21, 2023.

What do you think of Robert Downey Jr. starring in a Nolan film? Excited?
